The Epstein files contain references to the Kennedy family, but the most substantive detail comes from Ghislaine Maxwell's FBI proffer interview in July 2025, where she described a trip that Bobby Kennedy took with Jeffrey Epstein.

The Dinosaur Bone Hunting Trip

When FBI agents asked Maxwell about the Kennedy family, she revealed a specific trip that has not been widely reported:

"Bobby Kennedy knew him. Bobby the health...Bobby knew Mr. Epstein. How do you know that? Cuz we went on a trip together... We went to to um dinosaur bone hunting. In the Dakotas."

When pressed for timing, Maxwell placed this in the early 1990s:

"When was that you know approximately I'm not looking for an exact date but when was that? That was early. That was in the early night...I want to say 93, 94."

Maxwell's Connection to the Kennedys

Maxwell explained that she knew the Kennedy family independently of Epstein, through her personal relationships:

"I knew um Bobby's wife Mary pretty well actually and before he met her... my my going back to my family, my dad had given me an account when I was 12 and I had had always an interest in business and finance."

She clarified that her friendship with Mary Kennedy predated her relationship with Epstein, going back to the 1980s.

No Wrongdoing Observed

When asked directly about whether she observed anything inappropriate, Maxwell was emphatic:

"I never saw anything inappropriate with Mr. Kennedy."

She also stated she had no knowledge of whether Kennedy received massages:

"Do you know whether he ever got a massage from one of the masuses? Do you know either way? I do not. But not something you remember? I mean absolutely not."

Limited Personal Knowledge of Ongoing Contact

Maxwell said she could not confirm whether Epstein and Bobby Kennedy maintained contact into the 2000s:

"Do you know whether Mr. Epstein and Mr. Kennedy Bobby Kennedy continue to have relationships into the 2000s? I have no personal knowledge of that."

Ted Kennedy

Maxwell also addressed her knowledge of Senator Ted Kennedy, indicating she knew him through her own life, not through Epstein:

"Do you know former Senator Ted Kennedy? Yes. Does that through your own life or through Mr. Epstein? My life."
