Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz has been one of the most visible figures connected to the Epstein case, both as Epstein's attorney and as someone accused by alleged victims. Maxwell's FBI deposition provides her account of the relationship.
Meeting Through Lynn Forester
When asked how Epstein met Dershowitz, Maxwell recalled:
"Do you know Mr. Dershowitz? Do you know whether he knew Mr. Epstein? Do you know the nature of their relationship? Um, I definitely do know Alan... I know that he was Epstein's lawyer. I don't know if they had any relationship prior to that. I don't remember. Oh, I do actually. I think they met the same Martha's Vineyard to Lynn Forester now. I I think that's what happened."
Two Specific Memories
Maxwell described having two distinct memories involving Dershowitz:
"My personal memory of when I remember two I have two distinct memories with Alan. One is with him and his wife at the island and And I I absolutely remember that. And I remember I I think going to his house in Boston. If he had a house in Boston, that's there's 82 times I remember."
No Inappropriate Behavior Observed
FBI agents asked Maxwell directly about whether she witnessed any wrongdoing:
"Did you ever observe um Mr. Dershowitz doing anything inappropriate with young women around Mr. Epstein? Never."
"Did you ever Did anybody ever tell you that he had done anything inappropriate? Absolutely no."
"Do you know one way or the other whether Mr. Dershowitz ever got a massage? At the island or any locations that um he was at with Mr. Epstein? I I don't remember anything about him ever getting a massage. I don't ever I have any record I I I don't believe I ever even saw him in a bathroom. I have no knowledge of that."
Context
Dershowitz has been accused by alleged Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre of sexual abuse - accusations he has vehemently denied and litigated. Maxwell's testimony provides her account that she observed nothing inappropriate, though she was not always present at Epstein's properties.
