# Richard Branson: Maxwell Recalls Visiting His Island With Epstein
Virgin founder Richard Branson's Caribbean island, Necker Island, neighbors Epstein's Little St. James in the British Virgin Islands. Maxwell's FBI deposition addresses what she knows of their connection.
The Island Visit
During her FBI proffer interview, Maxwell recalled visiting Branson's island with Epstein:
"There was Branson Island there. Now I know that there's an allegation that they met. I I think I think I remember that I went to Richard Branson's Island with Mr. Epstein and Maybe he went another time, but I don't I wouldn't characterize Richard Branson and him as friends, but he did go and I think I went with him."
Not Friends
Maxwell was careful to note that despite the visit, she wouldn't describe Branson and Epstein as friends:
"I wouldn't characterize Richard Branson and him as friends"
Did Branson Visit Epstein's Island?
When asked whether Branson ever visited Epstein's island:
"Do you know whether Mr. Branson ever came to Mr. Epstein's Island? If he did, I was not there."
She acknowledged it was "possible" but she had no direct knowledge.
Geographic Proximity
Maxwell mentioned the Caribbean context while discussing another financier:
"Henry Chirac who had an island near his Henry was a financier who is the guy who cornered the silver market back in the day. He had an island in the Caribbean in the British Virgin Islands... and there was Branson Island there."
Documentary Evidence
Other documents in the Epstein files include an email where Branson allegedly wrote to Epstein: "Any time you're in the area would love to see you. As long as you bring your harem!"
Branson has publicly stated his contact with Epstein was limited and business-focused.
Summary
Maxwell's testimony indicates:
The proximity of their Caribbean islands made some contact perhaps inevitable, but Maxwell's characterization suggests it was limited.
