In her July 2025 FBI proffer interview, Ghislaine Maxwell provided the most detailed firsthand account ever recorded of the relationship between Jeffrey Epstein and Leslie Wexner, the billionaire founder of L Brands (Victoria's Secret, Bath & Body Works).
"His Closest Friend"
Maxwell unequivocally identified Wexner as central to Epstein's world:
"Wexner was, in my opinion, his closest friend in this time period from when I met him in uh 91, right? All the way until... I don't know because I wasn't that friendly."
The Ohio House
Maxwell testified about decorating a house Epstein maintained specifically for his Wexner relationship:
"He had the house in Ohio because of um his business relationship with uh Mr. Wexner. And he had a and I had to go and decorate and put that house together."
Financial Arrangements
Maxwell described Epstein's unconventional compensation structure:
"I think it was more a la carte. So, let's say this is a conversation actually Epstein told me. So, illustrated for me said if I saved someone $5 billion, he would take a flat percentage of that $5 billion."
The 71st Street Mansion
On the famous New York townhouse that Wexner transferred to Epstein:
"So, I don't know what the business deal was uh because again I'm not part of his business thing, but I think what happened would be that let's say Les owed him in theoretically for his services I 100 million or whatever it was. He could have traded that against the property."
The Scope of Epstein's Work for Wexner
Maxwell's testimony reveals Epstein managed virtually every aspect of Wexner's affairs:
"He would no detail was too small so he would do the contracts with the staff... he also organized all the trusts for all the children. So if Wexner had kids... every time there was a child, he would create a trust for that child."
"He restructured when I was there, Wexner's business in its entirety."
New Albany and Wexner's Empire
Maxwell described visiting Wexner's massive Ohio estate:
"Wexner owned or built or designed... New Albany which is a center outside of Columbus, Ohio specifically. And he built himself a very large house like truly enormous and it's one of the biggest private homes I've ever been to."
